If you are interested in developing materials for mobile learning, there are several authoring tools you can download. Here is a list of them. If you are particularly interested in creating podquests or using the Ipod, that list contains a couple of options. You could also use eXe, developed in New Zealand, which allows exporting of learning content to Ipod Notes.

Of course, mobile phones can be useful for research purposes too. This article talks about the technical aspects of mobile data collection and is a good read if you think you may be interested in this area.
